North Carolina Early Vote Location
North Carolina Democratic Party v. North Carolina
Lawsuit filed on behalf of the North Carolina Democratic Party, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee against North Carolina challenging Senate Bill 325, which eliminated the only mandatory weekend day of early voting (the last Saturday before Election Day) and imposed uniformity requirements among early vote locations that led to a reduction in early voting hours and locations during the 2018 midterm elections. The Legislature passed a law to restore Saturday voting soon after the lawsuit was filed, and an amended complaint was filed to challenge the uniformity requirements for early vote locations. In March 2023, the plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit.
