Wisconsin Voter Purge Challenge

Lawsuit filed by the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin (LWVWI) challenging the deactivation of over 31,000 Wisconsin voter registrations in July 2021. The lawsuit alleges that 31,854 voter registrations were canceled without proper notice or an opportunity to respond in violation of the 14th Amendment’s due process clause. On July 13, the parties entered a stipulation agreeing that within thirty days the Wisconsin Elections Commission will reactivate the registrations of voters in this group who have not already re-registered. On Aug. 12, the Wisconsin Elections Commission confirmed it reactivated the registrations of 30,554 voters.
