New Jersey Vote by Mail Intervention

August 24, 2020

Lawsuit filed by the Trump Campaign, RNC and New Jersey Republican State Committee against New Jersey challenging the state’s plan to run a primarily vote-by-mail election in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The DCCC intervened in the case to protect the expansion of mail voting. The court denied the plaintiffs’ request for a preliminary injunction and granted the DCCC’s motion to dismiss the case, finding that the plaintiffs’ claims of “vote dilution” were speculative and they lacked standing to bring the case.
