New Jersey Vote by Mail Intervention
Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. v. Murphy
Lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign, Republican National Committee and New Jersey Republican State Committee against New Jersey challenging the state’s plan to run a primarily vote by mail election in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) intervened in the case to protect the expansion of mail-in voting. The court denied the plaintiffs’ request for a preliminary injunction and granted the DCCC’s motion to dismiss the case, finding that the plaintiffs’ claims of “vote dilution” were speculative and they lacked standing to bring the case.
