Illinois Vote by Mail Intervention

Cook County Republican Party v. Pritzker

Lawsuit filed by the Cook County Republican Party challenging Illinois legislation that allows more people to vote by mail, expands early voting hours, improves the signature verification process and makes Election Day a state holiday. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) successfully intervened in the case to protect the expansion of voting opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic. After the district court denied a motion for a preliminary injunction, the plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the case.
