Texas AG Credits Trump Victory To Blocking Mail-in Ballots
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an interview with former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) admits on video that his efforts to block a safe, secure and accessible form of voting for millions of Texans were the reason Trump won in the state. County officials across Texas had planned to automatically send out mail-in ballots to all eligible voters in order to encourage voter participation and ensure everyone could cast their votes safely in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Paxton and other Republican allies sued to successfully block Harris County from mailing out these ballots.
He stated: “Had we not [stopped the Harris County mail ballots]…we would have been one of those battleground states that they were counting votes in Harris County for three days and Donald Trump would have lost the election.”
