Democrats Sue Over Unconstitutional Arizona Audit

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Arizona Democratic Party sued on Thursday to stop an unconstitutional audit ordered by the state’s Republican Legislature. The state Senate has hired a series of private firms to conduct the audit, including Cyber Ninjas Inc., led by a Big Lie conspiracy theorist. The firms plan to knock on voters’ doors and interrogate them about the validity of their votes, a clear form of voter intimidation.

The suit filed by the Arizona Democratic Party on Thursday asks for an immediate restraining order and preliminary injunction to stop the audit from beginning tomorrow and for a permanent declaratory judgment that the audit is unlawful, with plaintiffs’ fees paid by the defendants. The complaint lists the president of the state Senate, the chairman of the state Senate Judiciary Committee, the liaison of the Arizona Senate and Cyber Ninjas Inc. as defendants.
