Pennsylvania King’s Bench Petition
In re: November 3, 2020 General Election
Petition by the Pennsylvania secretary of the commonwealth filed in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court asking it to rule on whether signature matching and the subsequent rejection of absentee ballots based on signatures are allowed in the state after Republican attempts to add a signature matching requirement in various counties. The Pennsylvania Alliance for Retired Americans joined the secretary in her petition. The court granted the application for relief and sided with the secretary, directing counties to not reject absentee or mail-in ballots based on signature comparisons or third-party challenges alleging signature mismatches.
