Minnesota 2nd Congressional District Postponed Election

Lawsuit filed by Rep. Angela Craig (D) and an individual voter challenging a Minnesota law that meant votes for the 2nd Congressional District would not be counted in the general election following the death of a major party candidate, leaving the seat open until a later special election. The district court granted a preliminary injunction that ordered the Minnesota secretary of state to count all ballots cast for the 2nd Congressional District. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed.
