Minnesota 2nd Congressional District Election Contest (Dakota County)
Kistner v. Simon
Election contest filed in Dakota County by a group of Republican federal and state candidates and individual voters seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 general election. The contest claimed that the inclusion of absentee ballots in the county’s results was illegal. The contestants filed a second petition asking for permission to review physical ballots and voting machines. The state district court dismissed the case with prejudice. The contestants appealed to the Minnesota Supreme Court, but then voluntarily dismissed their appeal.
This case was one of the lawsuits former President Donald Trump and his allies brought in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
