Arizona Trump Sharpie Lawsuit

Lawsuit brought by the Trump campaign, Republican National Committee and Arizona Republican Party against the Arizona secretary of state alleging that ballots completed with a Sharpie were not counted by the ballot processing machines — a claim that proliferated on social media despite county officials strongly denying it. This lawsuit was identical to Aguilera v. Fontes, a case that had been voluntarily dismissed before this case was filed. The court dismissed the case with prejudice after holding an evidentiary hearing.

This case was one of the lawsuits former President Donald Trump and his allies brought in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
