Wisconsin Winnebago County Poll Hours Extension Request
Democratic National Committee v. Bartlett
Lawsuit filed by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) against Clerk of the City of Oshkosh, Diane Bartlett, seeking to extend in-person voting hours at seven polling locations until 10 p.m. The DNC claims that the American Legion, UW-Oshkosh Campus Culver Welcome Center, Oshkosh Public Library, Father Carr’s Place, Cavalry Lutheran Church, Living Water Lutheran Church and St. Jude the Apostle Church polling locations experienced delays due to inadequate staffing and resources on Election Day. The DNC asks the court to extend voting hours at the seven affected polling locations from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. to ensure all voters have an opportunity to cast their ballots in the November 2024 general election.
RESULT: The court denied the DNC’s petition. The seven affected polling locations closed at 8 p.m. CST.
