Pennsylvania Luzerne County Poll Hours Extension Request

Petition filed by the Luzerne County Elections Bureau and Luzerne County Board of Elections and Registration seeking to extend the hours for in-person voting on Election Day from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On the morning of Nov. 5, 2024, the Laflin Borough polling location in Luzerne County did not open until 8:30 a.m. — 90 minutes later than anticipated. The county asks the court to allow the Laflin Borough polling location to remain open for an additional 90 minutes to give every voter an opportunity to vote.

STATUS: Luzerne County filed its petition on Nov. 5, 2024. The court granted the request for an extension, meaning the polls will be open until 9:30 p.m. EST.
