Georgia Long Lines
Anderson v. Raffensperger
Lawsuit filed on behalf of individual voters, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Democratic Party of Georgia against the Georgia secretary of state, members of the Georgia State Election Board and all County Board of Registration and Elections members over the state’s persistent closure and consolidation of polling locations, leading to long lines to vote. The plaintiffs asked the court to require Georgia to provide a sufficient number and equitable distribution of polling places to prevent long lines on Election Day. The court denied the plaintiffs’ request for a preliminary injunction and granted the defendants’ motion to dismiss, finding that the plaintiffs lacked standing.
