Georgia Gwinnett County Poll Hours Extension Request 

Petition filed by the Gwinnett County Board of Registration and Elections seeking to extend the hours for in-person voting on Election Day by 58 minutes. On Nov. 5, 2024, two polling locations in Gwinnett County were evacuated due to a bomb threat, and voting was disrupted for 58 minutes. The county board asks the court to allow these two locations to remain open until 7:58 p.m. to account for the disruption. 

RESULT: The Gwinnett County Board of Registration and Elections filed its petition on Nov. 5, 2024. The court granted the board’s request, meaning the Mountain Park Activity Building precincts will remain open until 7:58 p.m. EST.
