Trump: No DHS funding until Democrats ‘vote with Republicans to pass the SAVE America Act’

President Donald Trump Sunday ordered Republicans to refuse any deal to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) unless Democrats agree to pass the SAVE America Act.

“I don’t think we should make any deal with the Crazy, Country Destroying, Radical Left Democrats unless, and until, they Vote with Republicans to pass ‘THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It is far more important than anything else we are doing in the Senate.”

Trump described the anti-voting bill as more important than funding DHS itself, even as the agency remains partially shut down and security operations are strained.

And he went further, expanding his list of demands to be included in the SAVE America Act.

“Voter I.D., (with picture!), Citizenship to Vote, No Mail-In Voting (with exceptions), All Paper Ballots, No Men In Women’s Sports, and No Transgender MUTILIZATION of our precious children,” Trump added. “Put it all together, and also, let Leader Thune clearly identify those few ‘Republicans’ that are Voting against AMERICA. They will never be elected again!”

The inclusion of “All Paper Ballots” marks a notable addition to Trump’s public demands, expanding his anti-voting agenda beyond strict photo ID and proof-of-citizenship requirements in the House-passed version of the bill — and beyond his earlier push for restrictions on mail-in voting, which are not included in the current legislation.

Over the weekend, Republicans attempted to add Trump’s anti-trans provisions to the SAVE America Act but the amendment failed to reach the 60 votes needed to advance.

Trump also called for eliminating the Senate’s 60-vote threshold in order to ram the full package through.

“In other words, lump everything together as one, and VOTE!!! Kill the Filibuster, and stay in D.C. for Easter, if necessary,” Trump wrote.

The post represents a significant escalation in the ongoing DHS funding fight, effectively demanding Republicans withhold national security funding unless Democrats agree to a wide-ranging package of voting restrictions.
