New Lawsuit Filed Against Democratic Counties in Wisconsin

November 12, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The latest Republican lawsuit challenging the 2020 presidential election results has been filed in federal court in Wisconsin. Three Republican voters, represented by right-wing group True the Vote, have sued Governor Tony Evers, the members of the Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC), and the clerks of three Democratic-leaning counties—Menominee, Dane, and Milwaukee Counties.

The lawsuit seeks to stop the certification of the 2020 presidential election results, citing unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud in key counties where President Donald Trump lost to president-elect Joe Biden. A nearly identical lawsuit was filed in Georgia earlier today.

This legal challenge joins other meritless lawsuits filed by the Trump Campaign and the Republicans across the country. So far, nearly all of the lawsuits filed by the Trump Campaign and the Republicans have been thrown out of court.
