WASHINGTON, D.C. — In early March, on the same day that Governor Whitmer declared a state of emergency in response to coronavirus, Michigan held its 2020 Presidential Primary where nearly a million Michiganders requested an absentee ballot. Despite the fact that, as of last year, all Michigan voters can register for a no-excuse absentee ballot, the state’s restrictions on vote by mail threaten to disenfranchise millions of voters in the August primary and the general election in November.
