STATEMENT: New Arizona Voting Rights Lawsuit

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Vote by mail has grown exponentially in Arizona over the past few years. In 2016, two million Arizonans voted by mail in the general election. This number will only increase in November due to the unprecedented public health crisis caused by COVID-19. Despite the expected surge, Arizona continues to enforce its signature review process of mail ballots: a system that causes thousands of valid ballots to be rejected every election.
