The disenfranchisement of Washingtonians is one of the most glaring civil rights and voting rights issues of our time. And by now it is clear: D.C. statehood is the only way to ensure American citizens living in Washington, D.C. have full representation in Congress and full access to our nation’s democracy.

Lawsuit brought by VoteAmerica, Voter Participation Center and Center for Voter Information challenging several provisions of a Georgia voter suppression bill. The case claims that the bill’s voting restrictions on absentee ballot applications violate the First and Fourteenth Amendments.

Lawsuit brought by Asian Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta challenging several provisions of a Georgia voter suppression bill. The case claims that the bill’s voting restrictions—including new identification requirements for absentee voting, limits on the use of absentee drop boxes, restrictions on the collection of absentee ballots, and more—violate the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments and Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
